The MEDIC ON CALL call center operates on a 24 hour, 7 days a week (24 / 7) basis with experienced paramedics on stand by to take any medical emergency big or small. The MEDIC ON CALL call center will immediately dispatch the appropriate level of care to you via our SMS system.

MEDIC ON CALL  can be contacted via SMS by sending the word �SOS� to our emergency cell phone 084 � 6 � 24 � 7 � 911. The call center operator will immediately phone you back on the cell number which you have send the �SOS� on. �Please call me� SMS will not be responded to.

 

MEDICAL RESPONSE BY ROAD.

A: REQUEST MEDICAL ON CALL TO ASSIST!!.

 

Qualified paramedics will be dispatched to your medical emergency (minor / major) by rapid response vehicle to assist you with advice and treatment. The paramedic will refer you to the hospital if needed; alternatively refer to a doctor if not serious.

 

No call-out fees when responding to a member emergency if not transported.

Medical supplies used during an emergency call-out included in monthly membership fee.

 

MEDICAL ADVICE 24/7*

The MEDIC ON CALL offer general medical information & advice.

 

These services include the assistance by our call center to guide you through a medical crisis situation, whilst you await the MEDIC ON CALL personnel.

 

Referrals to the crisis lines such as :

  • HIV Counseling;
  • Rape Counseling;
  • Center for Family & Domestic Abuse;
  • Trauma Counseling;
  • Child Abuse Help Line;
  • Suicide Hotline - Life Line;
  • Poison Information Line.

REPATRIATION OF MORTAL REMAINS*

 

In the time of sadness after losing a family member outside the hometown, the MEDIC ON CALL will assist with arrangement via a preferred service provider to have the mortal remains transported to a location in the hometown.

 

ROAD SIDE & BREAKDOWN ASSISTANCE & ACCIDENT MANAGEMENT*

 

The MEDIC ON CALL will be able to assist you with roadside & breakdown assistance. MEDIC ON CALL will request a preferred service provider to assist / tow your vehicle to place of safety.

 

After a member has been involved in an accident, a lot of things require immediate care. MEDIC ON CALL will assist with these arrangements, ensuring that the member is taken care of.

 

IN HOSPITAL MEDICAL MONITORING

 

MEDIC ON CALL will monitor the member's medical condition for the duration of the hospitalization outside the hometown. A relative or business colleague will be updated regarding condition of the member.

 

*   Noted as additional charges to member / medical aid scheme.

Membership is not a medical aid and external response and transportation is not covered.
